As a tutor, you are expected to develop 3 key areas of student performance:

1. student achievement of understanding within their subject area,
2. student confidence that they can achieve their goals,
3. student study skills to help apply their knowledge to complex tasks for excellence.

When a client has registered for a tutor, Lyn will sms you their details . Please contact the family within 24 hours and advise Lyn that this has been done. Check where tuition will occur, usually it’s in the home.

As a tutor for us YOU NEVER collect monies for ACE Tuition SA.  The tutor will expect 8-10 hours per client. Quite often clients keep their tutors for years. 

1. introduce yourself to the student and carers or parents;
   
2. appraisal of student strengths and limitations;
3. discuss and design a learning strategy for future sessions;
4. some initial reteaching might occur.

At ACE Tuition SA we always support the learning that is happening in the student’s school.

The first session or orientation has been paid to ACE Tuition SA; do not charge the client for this time. This once-off fee is your agency fee to ACE Tuition SA. Thereafter the client pays the tutor directly for their time at the agreed hourly rate (see below).

Tuition session length and suggested fees for tutors to charge :

Year 3-10

Duration: 1 hour

Fees: from $60/ hour  

Year 11-Tertiary

Duration: 1.5-2 hours

Fees: from $70 / hour

This fee structure is recommended, but you can negotiate your own fee based on teaching experience and expertise.

As we are a referral agency, tutors are responsible for their own taxation, insurance and superannuation. No Payment Summaries (group certificates) are issued. You are required to have a current WWCC, DCSI Clearance or Teacher’s Registration and read and abide by the Child Safe Environments Policy and Code of Conduct.
